STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Visionary Design Academy (VDA) is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. To achieve this, all students are expected to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. By enrolling at VDA, students and their parents/guardians agree to comply with these expectations to ensure a safe and productive environment for all.
This Code of Conduct outlines the behavioural standards required for participation in VDA programs and activities.

All students at Visionary Design Academy are expected to:
Respect Others:
- Treat all peers, instructors, staff, and visitors with respect, kindness and courtesy.
- Respect differences in culture, background, identity and ability.
- Avoid bullying, harassment, or any form of discrimination, including physical, verbal, or online misconduct.Follow Instructions:
- Follow the directions and instructions of instructors and staff at all times.
- Participate actively in lessons and activities, and complete tasks to the best of their ability.
- Comply with all health and safety guidelines provided by VDA.Respect The Learning Environment:
- Maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards learning and fellow students.
- Refrain from disruptive behaviour that impacts the learning of others.
- Take care of VDA’s equipment, facilities, and materials, and use them responsibly.Attendance and Punctuality:
- Attend all scheduled classes and activities punctually, unless a valid reason is provided for absence or lateness.
- Inform VDA staff in advance if unable to attend any scheduled session.Appropriate Use Of Technology:
- Use technology, including computers, tablets, and mobile devices, responsibly and only for educational purposes during class time.
- Refrain from accessing inappropriate content, social media, or engaging in cyberbullying while participating in VDA programs.Personal Conduct:
- Dress appropriately and follow any dress codes relevant to specific programs (e.g. safety requirements in design workshops).
- Refrain from bringing prohibited items, such as weapons, drugs, alcohol, or harmful substances to VDA premises or events.
Students must:
Work Cooperatively:
- Collaborate effectively with peers in group activities and projects.
- Resolve conflicts calmly and seek assistance from staff if needed.Maintain Integrity:
- Complete all assignments and projects honestly and with academic integrity.
- Avoid plagiarism, cheating, or any form of dishonesty in academic workTake Responsibility:
- Be responsible for personal actions and accept the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.
- Be accountable for personal belongings and respect other’s property.
SECTION 3: Consequences for Misconduct
VDA takes behavioural issues seriously. The following procedures may be followed if a student fails to adhere to this Code of Conduct:
Verbal Warning:
- A verbal warning will be issued for minor behavioural issues, reminding the student of expected behaviour.Written Warning:
- For repeated or more serious infractions, a written warning will be provided to both the student and their parent/guardian.Meeting with Parent/Guardian:
- A formal meeting may be arranged between VDA staff, the student, and the parent/guardian to discuss the issue and agree
on appropriate corrective actionsSuspension from Activities:
- In cases of significant or ongoing misconduct, the student may be temporarily suspended from participating in certain activities or classes.Expulsion:
- For severe breaches of this Code of Conduct, such as violence, bullying, theft, or dangerous behaviour, the student may be permanently expelled from Visionary Design Academy.

Parents/Guardians play an important role in supporting their child’s adherence to this Code of Conduct. Parents/Guardians are expected to:
Support the Academy’s Values:
- Encourage and support their child to meet the behavioural expectations set out in this agreement.Communicate with VDA:
- Keep VDA informed of any issues or circumstances that may impact the child’s behaviour or ability to meet these expectations.Engage in Discussions:
- Participate in meetings with VDA staff if behavioural issues arise and work collaboratively to address any concerns.
SECTION 5: Student and Parent/Guardian Agreement
We acknowledge that we have read and understood Visionary Design Academy’s Student Code of Conduct and Behavioural Agreement. We agree to uphold the principles and behavioural expectations outlined in this document. We confirm that we have reviewed all VDA policies available at vdacademy.com.au/policies.
SECTION 6: Media Consent
Visionary Design Academy (VDA) may take photographs or videos of students during classes and activities for educational and promotional purposes (including website and social media)
