The program encourages a design thinking mindset: the ability to imagine, plan, create, evaluate, and improve, while exploring space, form, function, and storytelling through 2D and 3D media.
It encourages curiosity, courage, structured exploration, and early professional habits through hands-on learning and self-expression.
Program Objectives:
Understand design thinking: imagination, planning, making, evaluating
Explore foundational design elements: space, shape, texture, and materials
Learn hand-making skills: model-building, stitching, assembling, crafting
Develop storytelling through environmental and spatial design
Encourage eco-thinking through reuse and sustainability
Introduce digital design platforms and creative digital too
Program Delivery & Assessment:
Target Year Levels: Grades 2, 3, 4 (ages 7–10)
Total Duration: 35 sessions across 4 terms (32 lessons + 3 special event days)
Session Format: Weekly 1-hour studio sessions (interactive, hands-on, project-based)
Assessment Model:
Formative: Weekly tasks, design journals, group critiques
Summative: Term project presentations
Reflective: Guided templates ("Two Stars and a Wish")
Final Deliverables:
Personal Design Journal (sketches, models, reflections)
Full-Year Design Showcase featuring physical and digital works
