This comprehensive design program is specifically tailored for students in Years 5 and 6, introducing them to the foundations of creative and visual design through hands-on, project-based learning. Students will engage with both traditional and digital tools to develop design literacy, conceptual thinking, and creative expression.
The program encourages students to explore key areas including colour theory, branding, illustration, digital communication, and wearable product design. Students build their skills and confidence through guided design tasks, thematic projects, and a final exhibition, all supported by reflective practice and portfolio development.
Your child will learn:
Foundations of Design - design principles, colour theory, typography, composition, poster layout, mood boards, digital media tools.
Animation & Visual Storytelling - storyboarding, character design, clay animation, camera techniques, stop-motion production, sound integration.
Creative Fabric Painting and Illustration - fashion illustration, textile experimentation, theme design, fabric painting, garment visualization using croquis templates.
Portfolio Development & UX Design - website layout, UX/UI basics, digital portfolio curation, personal reflection, final presentation, public exhibition.
