Kids will design their own cosplay characters—superheroes, fantasy characters, or magical princesses, princes, kings, queens, warriors, witches and wizards—and bring them to life using Adobe Photoshop and AI tools. This hands-on session blends fashion design, digital media and graphic design in an exciting, engaging way.

The AI Lab runs from 7 to 9 July 2025, with both a morning 9:30am to 12:00pm and afternoon 1:00pm to 3:30pm options available each day.

With a focus on creativity and digital skills, this hands-on session introduces kids to fashion design principles, colour theory, typography and graphic layout - all while crafting a unique character and poster design.

Morning Session: 9:30am to 12:00pm
Afternoon Session: 1:00pm to 3:30pm
Duration: 2.5 hours

Venue: Camberwell Community Centre (33 Fairholm Grove, Camberwell, Melbourne)

    • Design and develop your own cosplay character

    • Learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and AI image tools

    • Build your own mood board for inspiration

    • Explore colour palettes, typography and poster layout

    • Create a high-impact, personalised poster to take home

  • A digital and print-ready poster of your original character!

    (Please note: printing is not included—files are ready for you to print at home or a local store.)

  • Your own iPad or laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed

Workshop Breakdown

    • Welcome & warm-up activity

    • Brainstorm your character’s story and personality

    • Build an inspiration board (fashion, fantasy, colours)

    • Learn the basics of AI image tools and Photoshop

    • Short Break (10 mins)

    • Use AI to visualise and customise your character

    • Learn core design tips (colour, type, layout)

    • Create a final poster in Adobe Photoshop

    • Present your work to the group and take home your creation!
