Our academy is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of designers, equipping students aged 8 to 18 with the creativity, technical expertise, and critical thinking skills needed to thrive in an evolving creative industry.
Through our structured programs in digital and fashion design, we bridge the gap between foundational education and advanced learning. Our hands-on approach ensures students gain practical experience, confidence, and independence, preparing them for both academic success and future careers.

MEET YOUR TEACHERS
At Visionary Design Academy, we take pride in our team of highly skilled and passionate educators who are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of creative minds. Our instructors are not only experts in their fields but also deeply committed to fostering innovation, imagination, and artistic expression in every student. With a steadfast devotion to excellence, we ensure that every young artist receives the highest quality education, empowering them to bring their creative visions to life.
Ryan Ross
Senior Digital Design Instructor
With 20+ years in the creative industries, Ryan brings hands-on design experience and a love of teaching to the of role as Senior Design Instructor at Visionary Design Academy. Ryan has run his own creative agency for 15 years, worked in leadership roles in Melbourne, taught at the University of Tasmania, and created campaigns that connect and inspire.
Ryan is passionate about design and design thinking - exploring how creativity can solve problems, tell stories, and make a real difference.
Ryan loves sharing this passion with students, guiding them to develop their skills and discover their unique voice as designers.
Dr. Megha Bakshi
Senior Fashion Design Instructor
Dr. Megha Bakshi is a passionate educator and seasoned vocational trainer with over 8 years of experience in Fashion Technology, Visual Merchandising, Pattern Making, and Garment Construction.
She holds a Ph.D. in Fashion Technology, with expertise in designing engaging teaching methods and delivering robust programs.
Dr. Bakshi excels in fostering creativity and innovation among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Iris Wong
Associate Designer and Instructor
Iris is an accomplished graduate of RMIT University, excelling in her Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design and Construction Design. She will begin her Master’s degree in 2025, further enhancing her expertise.
With strong skills in drafting, 3D rendering, and model-making, Iris combines technical precision with creative innovation.
Her passion for fashion and accessory design also shines through, as she crafts unique merchandise for the trading industry.
Lachlan Miles
Associate Designer and Instructor
Lachlan Miles is a talented digital designer and proud graduate of RMIT, specializing in graphic design, UI, and UX.
With a passion for blending innovation and aesthetics, Lachlan brings a youthful energy and creative perspective to VDA, constantly pushing boundaries to deliver fresh, impactful designs.
Dedicated to inspiring the next generation of creators, Lachlan strives to share his vision and expertise, helping young minds embrace the ever-evolving world of digital design.

Fashion Design

Mastering tools for graphic design, digital communication, animation, visual storytelling, and multimedia production.
The Digital Media Design Program at Visionary Design Academy (VDA) offers a structured and comprehensive curriculum designed to develop students’ skills in digital creativity. The program covers core disciplines such as graphic design, animation, video production, and interactive media, equipping students with technical abilities, creative thinking, and industry-relevant skills required for higher education and careers in digital media. Each level fosters a balance between creativity and technical mastery, with a focus on professional practice and real-world applications.

Exploring creativity through garment construction, textile innovation, and the latest fashion styling trends.
The Fashion & Accessory Design Program at Visionary Design Academy (VDA) is a structured, progressive curriculum designed to develop students’ creative, technical, and industry-relevant skills. The program prepares students aged 8-18 for higher education and careers in the global fashion and accessory design industries. With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and professional practice, the curriculum covers foundational to advanced knowledge in both fashion and accessory design.

Camberwell Community Centre is part of the Boroondara Community. The new purpose-built facility was completed in April 2021 and we are now part of the street-scape on Fairholm Grove. Each week people come here to learn, create, inspire, teach and connect in a welcoming and inclusive space.
